Many people ask me how to go to Puerto Galera from Boracay? The options sometimes confuses many people so here are the three options you can follow to get there in no time.
If you are in Boracay and you’re looking to extend your vacation, fun activities and explore more, come and visit one of the most popular beaches in the Philippines, PUERTO GALERA.
Puerto Galera Bay belongs to the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World.
How to Go to Puerto Galera From Boracay
These are in order of cheapest to the most expensive options.
Cagban Jetty Port to Caticlan Jetty Port
From Boracay you will need to ride a Banca boat from Cagban Jetty Port to Caticlan Jetty Port. The trip will just take about 20 minutes. The trip can be wavy depending on the weather but don’t worry the crew are experienced with all possibilities and they will keep you safe.
Caticlan Port to Roxas City Mindoro
From Caticlan Jetty Port you will have a couple of options on how to go to your next stop. Cheapest one is to choose the ship that goes either to Bulalacao port or the Dangay port in Roxas Mindoro. But I suggest you take Dangay port it will save you some time.
These ships are:
- Montenegro/Marina Shipping Lines,
- Starlite Shipping Lines
- Super Shuttle Ferry
This trip will only cost you around PHP 460 and will have a lot of schedules to choose from. Passenger ships are available everyday starting 2:00 AM, 6:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 6:00 PM and 10PM but ALWAYS check in advance for schedule changes.
These ships are cargo ships or what they call RORO so if you have your own car or motorcycles you are always welcome to bring it with you, with additional charge of course. The whole trip will take at least 7.5 hours this is where you’ll need your pillows and music to help you sleep and relax while waiting to arrive at your destination.
Roxas Mindoro to Puerto Galera
After this you will arrive at Dangay port in Roxas Mindoro, from there you can ride a van that will take you to TERMINAL in Calapan Mindoro. (Note always negotiate the fare first before leaving). This is a three-hour drive so sit back relax and enjoy the curvy roads and the amazing view.
From the terminal you can catch a local jeepney or an air-conditioned van to Puerto Galera. This trip will take approximately one hour to reach Puerto Galera. Jeepneys are PHP 80 per person and the van is PHP 100 per seat.
Caticlan Port to Batangas Port
This option you can choose to board the “2GO travel” ship from Caticlan. The 2GO travel is also one of the ships that they call RORO that gives you the option to travel with your car or motorcycle.
The schedules of this trip may vary depending on the weather but regularly they leave exactly 8:00 AM everyday, seven days a week. This ship will take you directly to Batangas port after approximately 11 hours. This trip can be boring I tell you, make sure to bring your pillows and music because it will come in handy.
Fare for this trip will cost about PHP 1,200 per person, but in any event they will have promotions that you can take advantage so just check them out so you can save.
Batangas Port to Puerto Galera
After you arrive in Batangas Port you will need to proceed to Terminal 3 and look for the booth to pay the fare. There are many booths so make sure to choose the right one. There is Sabang Port, Muelle Port, Balatero Port and the White Beach Port.
These ports will lead you to any point of Puerto Galera. Here is a short explanation of what each one is good for:
- Muelle Pier: This is the Main Tourist Pier and the Heart of Puerto Galera. Awesome for Scuba Diving & Adventure
- Sabang Beach: It is a great spot for Nightlife and Diving
- White Beach Port: The name says it all, a White Sand Beach that caters to those sun-loving tourists
- Balatero Pier: Semi Regular RoRo vessels go here if you are bringing your car.
The fare is about PHP 250 and the same way from Boracay to Caticlan port you will ride a Banca boat. This trip is quite scenic and will take about one and a half hours so enjoy the ride and you’ll be in Puerto Galera.

If you don’t like to travel by ship and would like to go in Puerto Galera faster than try flying instead, but remember this option is the most expensive of them all.
You can fly from Caticlan Airport to NAIA in Manila.
PRO TIP: Flying out from Caticlan Airport to Manila can be more expensive than flying in.
There are 13 planes that are available everyday starting from 6:40 AM till 5:30 PM but it will vary depending on the weather so check the schedule ahead of time. Fare starts from PHP 4,500 and up depending on the class you choose. The flight will only take one hour.
Manila to Batangas Port
When you arrive in Manila you will need to ride a metered taxi, make sure it is metered or else negotiate the fare first before stepping in the taxi. Check out this video to give you tips on how to choose the right taxi watch the video below.
