Every few days, we have new videos coming out. Speaking of new videos… today, we have 5 videos that will knock your socks off.

The last video is one of the most popular videos on our channel. Or rather, it’s based on one of the most popular Badladz videos. We’ll get to that.

First, we’ve got a great video on the

1. Cost of Living In The Philippines

One of the great things about the Philippines is you have options to suit every budget. If you want to be a beach bum and do nothing but relax under palm trees while drinking beer, you can. You can rent a native hut beside the beach for less than $100 a month. Food comes cheap too, with local Filipino food being some of the cheapest you’ll find anyway.

However, if you want to go to the other extreme and live the high life in the Philippines, you can do that too.

Next up, we have a video about the

2. Philippines Fire Department

In Manila, you’ll find one of the biggest fire stations in all of Asia.

Of course, with many people using small gas stoves, fires are a common occurence throughout the city.

And after a fire, you need to go

3. Shopping in the Philippines

If you thought there was nothing to buy here, you’ll be surprised when you arrive. Surprisingly, you can find everything in the Philippines that you can find at home.

Exploring the local markets of Manila, you could be lost for days, wandering from store to store. From generators and motors to sparkling diamonds that drive women crazy, you can find everything you need here. That’s why you should always pack light when traveling to the Philippines.

Are you a war veteran? You’ll be right at home.

2. American War Veterans In The Philippines

If you’re an American war veteran, you’ll be taken good care of in the Philippines. You can live on one side of the country and they’ll fly you back for your routine medical checkups. They’ll fly you in and out of Manila, pay for your meds and make sure you get all the benefits.

But hey – let’s be honest. We’re all here because of the…

1. Hot Filipina Girls

When you stay at Badladz, our waitresses will take great care of you and you’ll also get to taste the famous Mexican food at Badladz. Watch the video above for more information and book your stay today!

I take a sip of my morning coffee and glance out into the Verde Island passage.

My office is a white outdoor table facing the ocean. I’m at Badladz, one of the most relaxing beach resorts in the world.

Behind me lies the resort; nine single rooms, six double rooms and the best nachos in a 100 mile radius (they import their ingredients from North America!).

The soft “pitter-patter” of my Macbook Air’s keyboard blends with the cool ocean breeze. Above me, numerous coconut trees reach to the cloudless sky.

It’s just another day at the office.

This morning, thousands of location independent folks are opening their laptops in a variety of locations. Like me, some of them are at the beach. Others are hidden away in the mountains, some are sitting in cafes and yet more are in a typical office with desks and office chairs.

All these people share one thing in common – their laptop is their business.

Or rather, they can run their business wherever their laptop is. This means that they can work

Anywhere in the world.

In 2007, a book called the Four Hour Work Week was released to the world. It inspired thousands of people to give up their day jobs, escape the 9-to-5 and live anywhere.

Fast forward five years and the popularity of the book has inspired a movement. Phrases like “location independence” and “lifestyle design” have entered the lexicon of entrepreneurs around the world.

In less than two weeks, a group of passionate entrepreneurs will be arriving at Badladz Resort in the Philippines. They’ll learn about what it takes to build a successful business while living abroad at the Tropical MBA Summer School.

Tropical M-B-whaaat?

The old script defines that life should follow these steps:

School >> College >> Job >> Retire >> Die

But given the latest economic developments, hordes of people are disillusioned with the old script.

The old model no longer works. Getting a degree is no longer a failproof strategy to get a job.

In 2012, a degree is often nothing more than a piece of paper. In most cases, it does not guarantee that you will get a job.

So if you’re not guaranteed a job after college, why go to college in the first place?

That’s a question that Dan Andrews from Tropical MBA has an answer for.

Dan believes that college is a waste of time.

Dan’s advice to people disillusioned with the old model?

Become an entrepreneur.

Two years ago, Dan decided to break away from the old script and offer other people the chance to do the same.

To get the ball rolling, he began by offering internships throughout South East Asia. Interns were given positions with a variety of different businesses in a variety of different locations.

Interns were given the opportunity to work with successful business dudes and learn about what it takes to succeed at the location independence game. Along with the work, they often received a small monthly salary and living arrangements.

Sure, all of them got paid less than they might have earned in any Western city, who wouldn’t? Especially when your office looks like this:

This sure beats the office back home.

With the relatively low cost of living, South East Asia provided the perfect location to cut expenses and focus 100% on building a successful business.

Intern #1 was Sean Ogle, the popular lifestyle design blogger from Location 180.

Since then, 9 internships have been offered to people from all over the world.

It has also been the inspiration for a number of other entrepreneurs taking interns of their own.

Two recent examples include Chris Ducker, the outsourcing pro and the Adsense Flippers, the… well… Adsense pros.

Also, to put another spin on things, this blog post is being written by John McIntyre, Intern #8 and currently positioned at Badladz in the Philippines.

The Tropical MBA internships usually attract tons of applications. It seems that people are eager for the opportunity to break out of their jobs and become a location independent entrepreneur.

In the last few years, an entire business has grown out of the Tropical MBA, including a paid community for location independent entrepreneurs, private SEO services and a top-rated iTunes podcast.

As with all journeys, Dan eventually found himself asking

What’s next?

With the popularity of the internships and the growing location-independent community, it seemed like a natural evolution to offer a Tropical MBA Summer Class.

In June, the first Tropical MBA Summer Class will kick off.

12 eager guys and gals that are passionate about creating a location independent lifestyle for themselves will knuckle-down and learn how to create a successful business.

While Dan was satisfied with his blog and podcast, he began to think,

Wouldn’t it be fantastic to get a passionate group of entrepreneurs in a room together and do something great?

And with that, the Tropical MBA Summer Class was born.

Along with world-class business advice from Dan and his team, all attendees will stay for two weeks in the Philippines at Badladz Beach Resort.

Badladz Beach Resort is in Puerto Galera, a small town in the Philippines. It is a popular tourist spot and attracts people from all over the world. The big draws are the scuba diving and the nightlife.

During the two week Summer Class, there will be numerous brainstorming sessions, lots of midday swims to cool off (the Philippines is HOT!) and of course, plenty of hustle.

After two weeks, people will leave with a fully-fledged business idea and they’ll hit the ground running in their quest for location independence.

In August, just one month later, it will be time for round 2…

The internet has created a radical shift in the workplace. You no longer have to work from an office.

You can literally live and work anywhere in the world. On the beach. In the mountains. At a cafe.

This isn’t just for backpackers and people willing to earn tiny wages for the opportunity to travel. If you’ve got a bit of grit and determination, you could put together a million dollar business using nothing but your laptop.

The world is your oyster.

It is an age of unprecedented freedom.

Will you let it pass you by or will you get in on the action and ride this wave to the top?

If you’re trying to break out from the old script, check out Dan’s blog and podcast.

Have you been to the Philippines before?

If not, you’ll enjoy this article. While the Philippines (and many other so-called “exotic” countries) have their differences, they actually retain many similarities with Western cultures.

But to stick with the title of this post, let’s take a look at 3 striking differences between the Philippines and that modern, affluent country you live in (if you’re from the West).

1. Less order, more chaos.

Chaos might be taking it too far.

However, it illustrates the point I’m trying to make.

The Philippines is far from an orderly place, despite the impression that it tries to be.

For example, take the traffic. While there are road signs, lines on the road and traffic cops, most people do whatever they want. Rather than rules, there is the honk. When you turn a corner, you honk. When you overtake someone, you honk.

Honk for anything and everything.

Hell, honk if you’re happy.

Contrary to what some people might think, no one will look twice if you honk all day. It’s normal.

This leads to what you might call “orderly chaos”. Your first time driving in the Philippines will probably feel terrifying but once you understand how the game works, you’ll get comfortable and begin to intuitively sense the order.

2. No rubber padding.

What do I mean by that?

No rubber padding means no rules.

Almost.

While there are rules and regulations in the Philippines, they are seldom followed. Often, bribes determine what you can and can’t do, rather than any strict adherence to rules and regulations.

This can be a good thing and a bad thing.

If you get into trouble with the police, it’s probably going to be a waste of time playing strictly by the rules. Get yourself a good Filipino lawyer and find a way out of trouble.

However, the lack of “rubber padding” means that the Philippines is something of a “wild west”. If you have never been here before, you will be astounded at the fun that you can have in the Philippines. There is a burgeoning expat community made up of people that are sick and tired of the constant rules and regulations in the West.

3. Time and productivity.

At first glance, some people make the assumption that most Filipinos are lazy.

While this is true in some cases, it is wrong in many cases. I think that this error stems from a misunderstanding of the culture and of the language.

Consider the culture of any typical Western city. We are conditioned from birth to adopt certain attitudes to life, to work, and to productivity that are not inherently correct.

Often, we are taught that it is better to be productive than to sit around and enjoy the weather. While this especially true in terms of ambition, creating change and making a ton of money, it’s not necessarily the best path to happiness or fulfilment.

When you come to the Philippines, you’ll need to keep this in mind. If you arrange to meet people, it’s worth keeping in mind that time is fairly loose and there is not a huge emphasis placed on punctuality in most areas.

Interested?

If you want to have fun, relax and let the good times role, there is no better place to come than the Philippines. Despite the differences, it is a magnificent place. Badladz Resort is in Puerto Galera, one of the most beautiful bays in the world. We are just 4 hours from Manila, the capital of the Philippines. If you’re looking for a tropical getaway that you won’t forget for a long time, there is no better place than Badladz.

Book today!

Ah… Thailand.

What an amazing country. With a rich history, abundant culture and tons of great places to party, it probably sounds like one of the best places to go in the world for a holiday. It’s one of the most popular spots on the South East Asia backpacking trail and there’s no doubt that you’ll have a great time in Thailand.

But despite how amazing Thailand can be, we think that the Philippines is better. However, since we run a few cool resorts, our opinion may be a tad biased

Mountains in Subic Bay

Let’s get into it – 3 reasons why Philippines is better than Thailand.

Less tourists. Thailand is a popular spot and with good reason. There are loads of great tourist activities and rich Asian culture to explore. Buddhism is the main religion and you could spend months just visiting different Buddhist temples. In fact, you can even spend a few weeks at a temple, learning to be a monk (how’s that for a retreat?). But this comes at a price. Being popular, tourists are EVERYWHERE. You’ll find it impossible to find a beach that isn’t packed with young, excited backpackers from all over the globe. In the Philippines, you’re off the backpacker trail so you won’t be surrounded by tourists in most places.

More adventure. Thailand offers a number of adventurous activities. The only problem is that when everyone is doing it, it doesn’t feel that adventurous. If you’re surrounded by tourists, it’s just going to feel like you’re at home. In the Philippines, adventure is hiding around every corner. From catching public transport to navigating the rambling alleyways of the provincial towns, you’re guaranteed to satiate your thirst for adventure in the Philippines.

More tropical. If you want to experience the tropical island getaway, Thailand probably isn’t the place. There’s too many other people doing the same thing for it to feel like a getaway. If you want a tropical island getaway, come to the Philippines. With 7,107 islands, you’ll find a number of great spots. In Palawan, one of the isolated island chains in the Philippines, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a hidden paradise that no one knows about.

Come stay at Badladz and we’ll give you a few more reasons why it’s more fun in the Philippines. Our Mexican food will melt your tastebuds and once you experience what it’s like to spend every day by the beach, sitting by a few coconut trees, you’ll never want to leave.

If you’ve been wondering what Puerto Galera activities that are available, you’ll love this post.

In Puerto Galera and the surrounding areas, there are a number of magnificent adventures you can go on. From mud karting to scuba diving, there’s no chance that you’ll ever get bored while in Puerto Galera.

Tukuran Falls (see picture above) is a great place to visit. It feels like a hidden paradise, as it’s tucked away deep in the jungle. From Puerto Galera, it will take around 1 hour to get to the trailhead.

However, don’t be worried about the journey. The highway takes you high above the sea and you’ll experience incredible views of Puerto Galera and the surrounding islands.

At the trailhead, there are a number of bamboo huts, as well as the local public transport – caribou.

You’ll be able to buy snacks and drinks (including ice cold beer!) before setting off on the journey to the falls. It’s best if you arrange your food beforehand. When you stay at Badladz, we can help you to arrange a trip out there, including food and transport.

From the trailhead, it will be around a 30 minute walk through lush, dense jungle before you arrive at Tukuran Falls. You’ll pass through freshwater creeks and rivers, as well as thousands of tall coconut trees. There are tasty tropical fruits that grow in this area, so ask one of the locals to grab one for you.

Often, you’ll have an entourage of locals that are interested in following you through the jungle.

When you arrive at Tukuran Falls, take a deep breathe and look around. You’re in one of the most beautiful spots nearby Puerto Galera, and you’re in the middle of the jungle. Drop your gear in one of the bamboo picnic shelters and dive into the water for a refreshing swim.

Depending upon the recent rains, the waterfalls may be a raging torrent or they may be only a trickle.

Tukuran Falls isn’t a massive set of cascading cliffs or anything of the sort. Instead, it’s a fairly small waterfall (if you can call it that). The river leisurely makes its way down the valley, rolling over rocks where necessary. Further up the fiver, you’ll find rapids that are exciting to float through.

This adds to the amazing serenity of the falls.

Lunch in the bamboo picnic shelters feels remarkably ancient, like you’re stepping back in time.

When you’re done, walk back out the way you came in. Take a caribou if you don’t feel like walking. Your transport should be waiting for you back at the trailhead, ready to take you back to town for a wild night enjoying the nightlife in Puerto Galera.

Tukuran Falls Travel Tips

Bring your own food as there are no restaurants in the area.

Whatever you take in, take out. Don’t leave any trash there.

If you don’t like getting bitten by mosquitoes, bring a bottle of potent insect repellent.

Take a camera.

Climb over the rocks and up the river to explore.

One of the great things to do in Puerto Galera is visit Talipanan Beach.

Where is it?

Talipanan Beach is roughly 15 minutes by motorcycle from Muelle Pier, the main tourist pier in Puerto Galera.

Along the way, you’ll pass through White Beach, a more famous beach destination. You’ll pass through small Filipino towns and plenty of jungle scenery. In a number of places, you’ll find that you have a great view of the surrounding areas.

After about 15 minutes, you’ll be pulling into Talipanan Beach.

It’s the end of the road.

You see, Puerto Galera is on the island of Mindoro. At some point in the past, they tried to build a road around the entire island. They almost made it around, but there is a short gap, right around the top of the island. If you try to travel around the island in an anti-clockwise direction, you’ll get to Talipanan and then you’ll have no where to go.

Talipanan is as far as the road goes in that direction.

Why go to Talipanan beach?

It’s a wonderful day trip to take. Talipanan Beach is a beautiful place. The sand is similar to the sand at White Beach, so you’ll enjoy the pristine White Sand. The beach is also much longer than White Beach and much quieter, making it an overall more relaxing place to hang out.

There are a number of resorts and restaurants where you can drop in, order a meal and enjoy the scenery.

There is a fantastic Italian restaurant at the very end of Talipanan Beach. They serve a number of great dishes, including delightful seafood pizza. It’s a very popular restaurant and it’s often very busy.

On the beach, you’ll find a volleyball net. Bring a ball and get a game going with friends! You’ll have a blast.

Talipanan Beach is just a short distance from both Badladz resorts. We have motorcycles for rent, so getting to Talipanan Beach is no problem. Bring your camera because you’ll want pictures of this wonderful place (see below).

To explore Talipanan beach and the other great destinations around Puerto Galera, book a room today.

When you come to the Philippines, you have to go diving!

In particular, you should definitely make time to experience the amazing Puerto Galera diving. It’s believed to be some of the best scuba diving in the entire world.

If you have never been scuba diving before, you’ll need to begin by enrolling in a Discover Scuba Diving course. This is the first stop on the way to becoming a qualified scuba diver. Even if you don’t want to become qualified, you’ll need to start here.

First, you’ll watch a video that is produced by PADI, the international diving authority.

Next, you’ll jump in the diving pool with a qualified instructor. The diving pool is a specially-designed pool for people learning how to dive. There is a shallow section and a deep section. The shallow section is for learning about the gear, how to use your regulator and how to breathe underwater for the first time. The deep section is for learning to descend and ascend safely.

For example, on the way down, you need to equalize your air pressure or you’ll get injured on the descent. Likewise, on the way up, you need to keep breathing. Otherwise, the air in your lungs expands and can damage them. Your lungs were not meant to expand very far!

After the pool, you’ll jump onto the diving boat and head off to the dive site of the day. If you’re diving in Puerto Galera, you’ll go to one of the great dive sites in the area.

There will probably be other people on the boat doing either their Discover Scuba Diving or perhaps just a dive. They’ll get into the water first. After that, it’s your turn!

Put your goggles on, inflate your BCD and fall back into the water. Roll over and prepare for the descent. Your instructor will explain what to do next.

You’ll deflate your BCD and allow yourself to sink. Since it’s your first time scuba diving, you’ll go down to around 10 to 12 meters depth. Then, you’ll float and swim along in the current.

Puerto Galera is an amazing place to dive. You’ll see colorful fish and incredible coral. On the ocean floor, there will be a number of sponges that are as big as a car. In some places, you’ll even see eels poking their heads out of the sandy ocean floor.

Rather than attempt to explain this magnificent experience, come and try it yourself!

Here is a picture to whet your appetite:

Another great thing is the Puerto Galera nightlife. Dive during the day and party at night!

If you want to dive, come stay at Badladz. We have an in-house dive shop and can take you diving to all the best spots around Puerto Galera.

People always want to know what the cost of living in the Philippines is. In this video, find out exactly how much you need to spend.

One of the great things about living in the Philippines is the fact that there is a wide range of lifestyles.

Many people come here and live on the cheap. They rent a cheap apartment and they eat cheap food.

At the bottom end, you can live in a cheap bamboo hut on the beach. There will be no running water, but it’ll be as cheap as you can get. The most a shack like this is likely to cost is $100 a month, though you probably get it for cheaper. If you eat local food (a lot of rice, pork, and fish), you can spend as little a $100 a month on your food. So in the end, it works out to be $200 to $300 a month to live on the beach in the Philippines.

Not bad, eh? Especially considering what it would cost to enjoy the same lifestyle in any Western country.

If you’ve got money to burn and would prefer something that is bigger and better, you can rent a mansion. You can rent a million dollar house for $2000 or $3000 a month. There are plenty of places like that in the Philippines. Usually, it’s a beautiful house on a edge of a beach.

You can enjoy whatever lifestyle you want in the Philippines. Depending upon your desire and your budget, you can live like a poor person or a king. It’s totally up to you.

There are also plenty of options in between those two extremes.

In Manila, there are ample options for people that want to be comfortable but don’t want to overspend to get there.

For about $800 a month, you can rent an apartment in Manila. Depending upon your air-con use, add another $100 on top of that. In the center of the city, two people can eat pretty good for $200 a month. All in all, about $1100 a month to get yourself set up comfortably in Manila. Some apartments include things like rooftop pools, volleyball and basketball courts and spectacular views of the surround area.

The nightlife in Manila is something along the lines of the Puerto Galera nightlife. It’s a great place to have fun, relax and enjoy your evenings. In Malate, one of the main nightlife areas, you’ll find restaurants, bars and clubs where you can make use of the night.

In the end, the cost of living in the Philippines is less than any Western country. Whatever lifestyle you want to experience, you’re guaranteed to be able to get the equivalent for cheaper in the Philippines.

You don’t have to be a king to live like one.

Wondering about the ins and outs of starting a business in the Philippines? In this video, learn about Philippines business opportunities.

Do you fancy yourself a businessman? Have you been running businesses in the Western world for a number of years? Do you think you could run a business in the Philippines?

Sadly, plenty of people who have answered “yes” to the above questions have failed miserably in the Philippines.

A lot of smart, driven people come to the Philippines seeking riches. While there are rich foreigners in the Philippines, the bankrupt, washed-up foreigner is much more common.

If you want to get involved with Philippines business opportunities, you have to be smart. Not only that, you have to watch your back.

In Western countries, there are all sorts of rules and regulations that go a long way to ensuring everyone behaves properly. In the Philippines, most of that doesn’t apply.

Oh, sure, they have rules and regulations, but if you think that when you have a problem, that the rules will be enforced, you are very naive.

You see, the Philippines is a third-world country. Yes, they speak English and yes, there is a lot of money to be made. However, rules are regulations apply only occasionally. In some cases, everyone breaks the rules but then one day, they are randomly enforced and businesses lose huge sums of money to get back within the rules.

You’ve heard about lawyers in the Philippines. More often than not, court cases are solved with cash-in-hand rather than any “evidence”. And if cash doesn’t resolve it, the court cases drag out to ridiculous amounts of time. Either way, if you’re looking for lawyers, you want the biggest, baddest kids on the block.

What we’re saying is don’t be stupid. Don’t come to the Philippines and expect it to be easy.

It’s not.

There will be problems. Only the most driven and determined succeed.

You’ll need to jump through a bunch of hoops. You’ll need to play the game different to how you would in the West.

A foreigner can’t technically own a business in the Philippines, however there are a number of ways around this restriction. As a foreigner, you will also be unable to vote, own property, become a policeman or carry firearms.

Fortunately, the Philippines speaks English and they use it for all their legal documents. This means that law cases and business dealings are done in English.

However, do your research! No excuses!

Want to find out more? Come stay at Badladz and we’ll explain more about how to go about Philippines business opportunities. You’ll love the diving and nightlife.

Many people think the Philippines is a third-world country. And, well, it is a third world country. But as we’ve shown in other posts and videos, the Philippines is an awesome place to hang out.

As the two Badladz resorts are in Puerto Galera, we talk a lot about the awesome benefits of Puerto Galera. But Puerto Galera isn’t the only fun place. When you come to the Philippines, you’ll find fun waiting for you at every corner.

A few weeks ago, we went to the Manila Boat Show. True to Filipino form, it was a lot of fun. The best bit were the toys.

Lots of boats, of course. Speed boats. Wakeboarding boats. Fishing boats. Every size of outboard motor you could imagine.

But that’s not all.

There were these awesome inflatable kayaks. If you’ve only ever seen the typical kayak that you need to row, you’ll be amazed by these babies. Imagine a kayak that has three methods of propulsion. Sure, you can row. But why would you row when you can peddle, just like a bike? And if the wind is blowing, you don’t have to do a thing. Yes, that’s right, these kayaks have sails!

There were small quad bikes and big quad bikes.

One of the boats was a custom wakeboarding boat. It had a fantastic paint job that screamed “awesome”.

Despite the “Boat Show” title, they even had a helicopter. For 35,000 pesos an hour (about $800 USD) you can zoom around Manila City.

Past the helicopter, there was a suzuki jet boat.

They had BMW cars.

There was a great “combat boat” towards the back.

And as in all the Philippines, there were plenty of hot girls.

If you watch the video, you’ll see what we mean.

In the Philippines, you can find any toy you can dream of. It might be a third-world country, but it doesn’t skimp out on the toys
