The diving in Puerto Galera is absolutely world-class. It’s no wonder why thousands of people come to Puerto Galera every year to go scuba diving.

When you come to Puerto Galera to go diving, you set yourself up for the holiday of a lifetime.

It is tropical paradise here. While you’re coming to explore underwater, you’ll spend most of your time above the surface; at your hotel, in restaurants and walking around this magnificent place.

Fortunately, Puerto Galera is filled with all the things you could ask for from a bona-fide tropical paradise. There are tall coconut trees that sway in the warm tropical breeze. Being the tropics (and the amazing Puerto Galera weather), the sparkling blue water temperature stays between 26 and 29 degrees celsius. This means you can go diving in Puerto Galera at ANY time of the year.

What awaits you under the sea?

Many incredible things.

From giant clams to vividly colored fish, from ancient Spanish Galleons to Chinese Warships from thousands of years ago, from shallow reef diving to deep, dark diving to the depths, there is everything you need for a wonderful diving holiday in Puerto Galera.

One of the great things about the diving in Puerto Galera is that it has been a protected marine sanctuary since the days of Marcos The Dictator. Puerto Galera was intended to a playground for the Manila elite. For that reason, most of the incredible biodiversity has been protected from destructive fishing practices.

Immediately out the front of Badladz Adventure Resort, you can explore the giant clams. Further out, there is a wreck of a 50ft motor boat that burned and sank in 2002.

As you move out, you come to a shipyard. As can be expected, this is a great place to go wreck diving. Under the shipyard, there are numerous wrecks and ships that litter the sea floor.

When you get into the Manila Channel, you pass a spot where a friend found a Chinese junk from the Ming Dynasty era in 15 meters of water. You’ll find some of the things he discovered in Museums around the Philippines.

You can follow the peninsular the entire way around to Badladz Beach Resort and there are numerous scuba dive spots along the way.

Puerto Galera is a wonderful place, and the Puerto Galera diving is no exception. There is so much variety, splendor and excitement to be had. You’ll have the time of your life when you come diving in Puerto Galera. It’s one of the best activities in Puerto Galera.

Watch the video above. It will give you a taste of what White Beach is like when it’s busy.

It’s summer vacation to the beach is crowded with people who are enjoying the sun and surf. It’s a beautiful afternoon and everyone is having a great time.

Young children play in the shallows while teenagers play volleyball. Some people are riding banana boats while others are tanning themselves with the final rays before the sun departs for the other side of the world.

Where is this beautiful white beach in Puerto Galera?

White Beach is a short, 10 minute motorcycle ride from Badladz. It’s a fantastic spot to relax, unwind and enjoy the afternoon sun. While there are plenty of hotels in White Beach, the area is quite crowded and noisy. If you want a quiet, relaxing stay, you’re much better off booking into the Badladz Beach Resort.

As you can see in the video above, White Beach is a long, beach with fine, white sand. It’s a beach to rival the best beaches in the tropics and every year, it attracts thousands of tourists, both from the Philippines and around the world.

Half the length of White Beach, shops, vendors, tattoo parlours and restaurants take residence. When the sun goes down, many of these places roll out large sound systems and blast thumping dance hits out onto the beach. White Beach is a popular place for people looking to enjoy the Puerto Galera nightlife. Along with great dance clubs and discos, you can also get a massage on the sand or watch the fire dancers.

All the fun and excitement at White Beach Puerto Galera is just 10 minutes from Badladz. You can ride here yourself on a motorcycle, or you can enlist one of the eager locals for a ride. Your fare will probably help him feed his family that night for dinner.

Badladz is also close to Sabang, another famous nightlife spot in Puerto Galera.

Everywhere you turn, tropical paradise in Puerto Galera is, well, paradise. Each day, we enjoy beautiful weather, warm water and absolutely spectacular scenery. We would love to share the amazing experience of Puerto Galera with you. Come stay at Badladz and along with a comfortable room, you’ll get wonderful service, famous Mexican food and lots of great photos to show everyone at home when you return.

A lot of people think that there is nothing to do in Manila. Today, we go to Manila Zoo for a look around.

Many people come to Manila and try and get out as fast as possible. They think that there is very little to do in Manila except breathe pollution.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, there is a ton of things to do in Manila, just as there are numerous Puerto Galera activities.

Today, we go to Manila zoo to show you around. In the future, we’ll bring you more ideas of things to do in Manila.

Manila Zoo is a lot of fun. You can go there and spend a whole day walking around. Inside, there are numerous animal exhibits. However, don’t expect anything fancy. It might be a bit of a shock if you’re used to Western zoos. Many of the enclosures are little more than concrete, although the tigers fare well. They have grass and a few trees!

Inside, you’ll also find a few shops and bars. Unlike Western zoos, you’ll even be able to buy beer inside.

We came to the zoo on one of the busiest days – the day before Chinese New Year.

We strolled through and checked out all the animals. We passed a few tigers. Thankfully, they’re kept enclosed pretty tightly. There’s very little chance of one escaping and running around the zoo. They’ll have to grow wings before they get out of their enclosure.

We saw a hippopotamus, Filipina deer, alligators, an elephant and a white Albino python.

In the alligator enclosure, it looked as though the alligators hadn’t moved in a long time. The other visitors must have thought the same as lots of silver and gold coins littered the enclosure. No doubt, people had tried to get the alligators to come alive.

In the center of the Manila zoo, you can hire a boat and paddle it around. Don’t expect anything flash though. These boats are more like boxes that float, than boats. You’ll be able to get around, but you won’t win any races.

There is a petting zoo for the children. They can even take a ride on a pony, as well as have their photo taken on a very large horse. There is a fish spa for your…ah… fish?

As you can see, the Manila zoo is one of the things you can do in Manila. Stop by the zoo on your way to Badladz! You’ll love it, but it has nothing on the Puerto Galera nightlife

Have you ever fired a gun? Do you want to get some shooting practice? In Puerto Galera Shooting Range, discover another of Puerto Galera’s great activities.

As you can probably tell, we love Puerto Galera.

It is a wonderful place. There are numerous things to do, from world-renowned scuba diving to great nightlife.

The other day, we visited the Puerto Galera Shooting Range for some fun with guns in the sun. It was a rockin’ day.

The outdoor firing range in Puerto Galera is located in the jungle. It sits immediately behind an elementary school where kids go every day to learn about why guns are dangerous (among other things ).

As you’d expect, there are some great toys to play with at the shooting range. On the wall above reception, you can see 357s, 44 Magnums and Lugers. They have an AK-47, as well as a Croatian Commando automatic rifle.

We took a few of the weapons for a spin. Watch the video above to see how much fun it was.

The outdoor firing range here is run by Willy, an experienced shooter with a bucketload of experience. You can come in here and you can get lessons. Willy will show you how to handle the gun, how to aim, how to fire and how to get the most from the tool. You’ll have a blast. It’s one of those skills that may come in handy one day, though hopefully not. It’s the sort of skill that you’d rather know and not need, instead of need and not know.

In the video above, we take the Croatian Commando rifle for a spin. It uses the same ammunition is an American M16, an Armalite. However, this baby is lighter and has less recoil. It’s a beautiful gun; lightweight and fast. You’ve got the option for single shots or… full AUTO .

This is just another of the fantastic activities in Puerto Galera. As you can see, it’s more than just diving and hot Filipina girls.

When you come here, enjoy the Puerto Galera diving as well as the exciting nightlife. But don’t forget to check out the outdoor firing range. The range is about 10 minutes walk from Badladz Adventure Resort. It’s a great place to spend the day. There’s lots of ice cold beer and tasty food.

Get lessons, bring your own weapons and meet a variety of interesting people.

And if you watch the video above, you’ll find out it’s not just for guys. See the girl on the range? That’s not his girlfriend… that’s the range officer.

For more information, go to the Puerto Galera Shooting Range website.

Would you like to work from anywhere?

Imagine what it would be like to have no office and no boss while living in tropical paradise.

Wouldn’t that be great?

Imagine waking up each day and walking to your office… by the beach. Imagine setting up your laptop in a cafe and doing business beside a white sandy beach. Imagine taking business calls while looking at pristine blue water.

For those of us who live in the Philippines, every day is like that.

We wake up. We take breakfast on the edge of the water. We take regular breaks by swimming, running or other forms of exercise. We relax. We have a great time. And in the end, we make a bunch of money.

Most of us do it all from our laptops.

One of the great things about living and working the Philippines is that internet is available almost anywhere. Practically every resort and Puerto Galera hotel offers WiFi. If not, you can easily get yourself a wireless internet USB chip. If you do that, you can literally work anywhere.

Heck, you could be a boat miles from land and still get your work done.

That’s the reality, here in the Philippines.

You can work from anywhere. It is bona fide location independence.

It’s perfect.

In the Western world, people spend their entire lives working towards the moment when they can retire and have an easy life. Perhaps they retire to the tropics. You can do that now. You simply need to be able to run your business from your laptop.

It’s ideal for freelancers as well as people who have online businesses.

There is a huge expat community in the Philippines and it’s easy to understand why. Beautiful scenery. Hot Filipina girls. Great food.

What more could you ask for?

Get started today.

Badladz is an awesome resort. In fact, we have two resorts. We offer some of the best Mexican food in the Philippines, as well as free WiFi. If you want to experience what it’s like to live and work in the Philippines, come stay with us.

You will have the time of your life. With numerous activities and great nightlife, you’ll love it here.

In Lawyers In The Philippines, find out why Philippines lawyers make it harder to resolve things, rather than easier.

Another thing to think about when you’re in the Philippines is that there’s not a lot of oversight committees. There are not many agencies that will protect you.

This stands in stark contrast to the Western world.

In the typical Western country, we get used to having everything rubber padded for us. There are watchdogs keeping track of everything. We don’t have to be overly careful, because the system is designed to protect us.

In the Philippines, nothing could be further from the truth.

In a poor country like the Philippines, you have got to watch your own back because no one else is.

For example, take lawyers.

One of the things you have to understand about lawyers is that they don’t make money once they fix your problem. If you’re a foreigner, they know you have a lot of money (relatively speaking).

Suppose you have a situation that you need resolved and you bring in a lawyer. You have money and you’re willing to pay. Unfortunately, the lawyers in the Philippines know this. But when your case is resolved, the gravy train stops. When you look at it like this, you see that there is no motivation for them to fix your problem.

What do lawyers in the Philippines then do?

They drag your case out for as long as possible as they make more money. They will actively try to avoid reaching a resolution, simply to keep making money from you.

In some cases, they will even give you bad advice to create more problems for you, as this puts more money in their pocket. Conversely, if you get the right lawyers in the Philippines, they can go in and sit down with the judge to negotiate the terms of the resolution. They can work it out in your favor (cash in hand).

In the end, corruption goes both ways. There are two things to remember:

Be careful, because you have no protection.

If you have money, you can buy your way out of problems.

If you ever require the assistance of lawyers in the Philippines, do your research and find a lawyer who will be able to help you get the resolution you seek.

What is Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera like during September? Is it worth going there at this time of the year or is there a better time to go?

You want to come to Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera.

Why not?

Tropical paradise is hard to resist.

Sabang is a barangay (town) in Puerto Galera. It attracts Westerners, while White Beach (another Barangay) draws Filipinos.

Sabang is the perfect spot for a relaxing holiday. Numerous resorts and hotels line the beach.

One of the great things about the Philippines is that you can come here anytime of the year and have an absolute blast. Throughout the year, the weather is warm and humid. While there are slight seasonal fluctuations, it is a wonderful place to be, regardless of what month it is.

Is it OK to go to Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera?

Of course!

If the nightlife in Puerto Galera is what you seek, then it doesn’t matter what time of the year you come to Puerto Galera. Whether it’s raining hard or clear and peaceful, you’ll be able to hit the bars in Sabang, Puerto Galera.

For those seeking the world-renowned Puerto Galera diving, it is also great anytime of the year. However, it’s better during September (and around that time). The water is warmer, clearer and there is less crowds.

July, August and September are considered typhoon months, but hey, the typhoons don’t follow the calendar. But since it’s typhoon season, people tend to avoid the Philippines. This means accommodation is going to be easier to find. It will be cheaper and it’s going to be better if you want to make deals. For scuba diving, the water will be warmer and you’ll have the water largely to yourself.

If you come during December, the water is around 27 or 28 degrees celsius. During high season, it can get as cold as 23 or 24 degrees celsius. While during summer (July, August, September), the water is 30 or 31 degrees celsius. Along with the increase water temperature at Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera, the water is also clearer. If you’re coming for the diving, then you’ll see a lot more during the summer months. The visibility is much greater during the low-season months.

Most people come during high-season since that’s the only time they can get holidays off. If you can arrange a trip to Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera during the summer months (low-season), there’ll be less crowds, it’ll be cheaper and the activities (like the diving!) will be better.

Do you want to avoid prison and have a great holiday? Learn about the Philippines police and find out how to stay out of trouble when you’re here.

Almost everyone knows that the Philippines is a corrupt country. If you didn’t, now you do!

It’s no secret and it’s no reason to cancel your trip. Despite the corruption in the Philippines, you’ll have the time of your life here (especially if you stay at Badladz!).

While corruption is rampant, don’t let it stop you from booking your holiday. What you need to know is how to deal with it.

It can be as simple as something like this:

Suppose your driving through town and a policeman pulls you over. When you pull out your drivers license, you hand it to the policeman with 200 pesos and the policeman will hand it back without the 200 pesos. This is standard behaviour in the Philippines.

You see, the Philippines is not a violent country. Incidences of violent crime are quite rare. When they do occur, the Philippines police are great at protecting you. However, this is a poor country, so when it comes to money, they want a piece of the pie as well.

One of the things I’ve learned (many of my friends too) is to always pay the first person.

It doesn’t matter what kind of trouble you’re in. It doesn’t matter if it was your fault or somebody else’s fault.

Always pay the first person.

Once an issue has begun with the Philippines police, do not expect it to improve. Assume that things are never going to improve. As the issue escalates, more people get involved. As this continues, it becomes increasingly expensive for you to buy your way out. If there’s more police, there’s more people. If you go to the Philippines police station, there’s more people again.

Regardless of what happens, it will always be cheaper at the start than wherever you end up.

You don’t want to take the issue to court either. In the Philippines, court cases can languish for years. And if you end up in jail, don’t tell your Embassy!

Why?

Your Embassy cannot save you. All it can do is ensure you receive “due process”. This means that you can no longer buy your way out, since the Embassy will have its eye on you. If this happens, you’ll be stuck in jail until the issue is resolved and that can be years.

On the other hand, if you have money, you can set yourself up in style in jail. I know guys that set up their own cell with air-con, WiFi and color TV.

The Philippines is super safe. You’ll have the time of your life. There is not a lot of violent crime, but you have to remember that it is a very poor country. If you act like you’ve got money, you’ll become a target for the Philippines police.

Get the low-down on airports in the Philippines. Don’t arrive blindfolded – find out the best way to get from the airport to your destination.

When you come to the Philippines (and you should!), you’ll arrive by plane. That is, unless you pull off a stunt as a stowaway aboard a ship, but hey, that’s pretty unlikely. Get a plane – they’re more comfortable than the cargo hold of a boat.

Chances are that you’ll arrive at Manila Airport. If you arrive at Clark, check out How To Get To Puerto Galera for directions from there.

When you arrive in the Philippines, one of the things you’ll notice is that the airports in the Philippines are vastly under-equipped. Unlike most Western airports, there is no comfortable waiting area or lounge for your friends to wait your imminent arrival. Instead, you have to go straight through immigration and leave the airport to find your friends or transportation.

In the video above, you’ll see a few shots of the different terminals at Manila Airport.

The Terminal 3 Departures area is one of the best places to find a taxi. When you arrive, leave Arrivals and make your way to Departures at Terminal 3. From there, you’ll have much more success finding a taxi.

For an unknown reason, the taxis tend to hang out at Departures rather than Arrivals. You’ll see the Arrivals area in the video above. Look carefully. There are no taxis there.

On each pillar in Arrivals, there are numbers. If you’re meeting people, pick a number and meet there. Organize this beforehand as airports in the Philippines can be a bit of a mob scene, making it tough to find friends.

Get a white taxi. Occasionally, you’ll see yellow taxis, however they are a lot more expensive than white taxis.

Now that you’re in the Philippines, where should you go?

Well, it depends on the time of the day.

If it’s lunchtime or earlier, make your way to Puerto Galera and come stay at Badladz! If it’s after lunchtime, you’ll want to check-in to a hotel for the night. Get out and enjoy the wild Philippines nightlife and make your way to Badladz in the morning.

Airports in the Philippines are somewhat stressful and always exciting. Watch the video above to get a good idea of how to enjoy your experience and get to where you need to go. You’ll have a great time once through the airport. The Philippines is a wonderful country with many fantastic things to do and experience.

Check out the New Years Eve 2012 Fireworks in the wild, wild west (ie. the Philippines). We filmed the action from the rooftop of a 15 story apartment block!

Don’t you just love New Years Eve?

New Year Celebrations 2012 are one of the most exciting days of the year. Everyone, no matter where they are in the world, is in the mood to party. Everyone is preparing to have an awesome time. The festive atmosphere is electrical enough to make little ol’ Grandma start dancing.

Watch the video above for a snapshot of the New Years Eve 2012 fireworks in Manila. You’ll be dazzled, but not by what you would expect.

In Western countries, fireworks are typically outlawed. It’s illegal for the average person to buy fireworks. Instead, governments put on professional fireworks displays for the people.

Here in Manila, there is nothing of the sort. I could be wrong, but I don’t think the Government here does anything official regarding the fireworks.

Instead, everyone, man, woman and child (yes, we’re not joking) buys their own fireworks. It’s one of the outrageous activities in the Philippines. Anyone with a pocket full of change gets their own fireworks. Unfortunately, it’s also anyone with a handgun or automatic weapon celebrating, shooting their guns into the air.

When the time for New Year celebrations 2012 arrived, Manila became the scene of a World War 2 re-enactment.

From the rooftop of an apartment building, we watched the city come to life around us. Everywhere throughout the city was exploding.

Green fireworks. Red fireworks. Love-heart shaped fireworks. Giant white fireworks that lit up the sky. Tiny dots of yellow that disappeared as quickly as they came. Fireworks that made one huge explosion. Fireworks that made of hundreds of tiny explosions.

As you can imagine, it was an absolute spectacle.

With everyone setting off fireworks, the city was alive with explosions. It illustrates the idea that the Philippines is a bit like the Wild, Wild West. In the video, you’ll see smoke down in the streets. While some of it is from the New Years Eve 2012 fireworks, a large amount is from the fires that result from the amateur fireworks. We heard fire trucks and ambulances racing through the city all night.

In case you’re wondering, throughout the New Years Eve 2012 fireworks, over 500 people were injured. So perhaps it’s a good thing that we can’t do the same thing in the West.

As you can see, the Philippines is crazy. That’s why we love it here.

To get in on the wild action in the Philippines, book a room at Badladz! We’ll show you how to get the most out of your stay!
