Are you looking for the best Puerto Galera Beach Resort? Of course you are. All of us would like to stay at one of the best resorts when we go on our holiday so we can enjoy and have fun during our vacation. Thats why I decided to write this to help you decide where to stay when planning to visit Puerto Galera.
Puerto Galera has always been a perfect place for fun and adventure for both solo and group travelers. While solo or couple travelers are pretty common, groups and company travels are also becoming well known this time of year. In this article I will talk about the Puerto Galera group accommodation and where to find a perfect place to stay with your group.
Puerto Galera Group Accommodation
If you are looking for a place to have a team building, company outings, or just a group of friends that wants to have some fun for a weekend. Puerto Galera will not disappoint you. Here there are variety of things to do from the land activities to the water activities and many more.
For choosing a place to stay there’s also a lot of option for hotels and resorts but only few can properly accommodate groups as a true Puerto Galera group accommodation and one of them is our very own BADLADZ.
Our BADLADZ Adventure Resorts have been open since 2003 starting with BADLADZ Dive Resort and have been offering Puerto Galera group accommodations ever since. Because of this BADLADZ already has built its reputation on handling and hosting group events. Making BADLADZ the perfect tropical venue for your events.
Just this month we had another group that came over and had fun at our newly renovated BADLADZ Beach Resort, The Inspection Company (TIC).
TIC Group Chooses BADLADZ Beach Resort for their Puerto Galera Group Accommodation
The TIC group arrived at the shore of Small Tabinay beach by the boat arranged by the resort. These are private boats leaves from Berberabe private port at Batangas City and goes directly in front of the BADLADZ Beach Resort.
This option is always available for groups and even for couple travelers that want to land directly in front of the beach resort without going through the pier. Anyone that wants to have this option must contact us ahead of time for the resort to arrange these private boats.
Arriving at BADLADZ in Puerto Galera
The group arrived at BADLADZ Beach Resort at around 8 in the evening just in time for dinner. They unpacked their bags and sat down in a long table where we prepared them some of the BALADZ food delicacies.
After dinner most of them went to their rooms to get some rest and some stayed up to have some beers in our 24 hours bar.
The next morning which is basically their fist day, they went out to explore the beauty of Puerto Galera.
1st Day – Tour Around Puerto Galera
For them to enjoy and experience the beauty of Puerto Galera since most of them are first timer here, we got them a private jeepney and a tour guide to show them around. They drove around the thrilling hill side road of Mindoro Island.
The last stop they visited for this day was in Barangay Villaflor 14 kilometers away from BADLADZ Beach Resorts, where the natural wonder of Puerto Galera is located, the Tamaraw Falls.
Here they spent the whole afternoon swimming in the cool and clear pool below the waterfalls, picnics and of course taking some selfies with the beauty of the falls.
2nd Day – Ponderosa and Zip Line Adventure
On their 2nd day they went to Ponderosa Golf Course. Ponderosa is 8 kilometers away from the resort, it has a small 9 hole par 3 golf course. This is located high up in the mountain making it a perfect place to enjoy the fantastic view of the whole Puerto Galera.
This is also the same place where they experienced zip-lining from the mountain top going down, they surely loved the thrill and excitement for this day.
3rd Day – X-Treme Sports and White Beach Escapade
On their 3rd day, they visited the X-Treme Sports Philippines Adventure Park, this awesome park is located 2 kilometers away from the resort. Here they enjoyed lots of group activities such as Paintball Shooting, Go Cart Racing, mud ATV’s and many more. They can’t stop talking about how awesome it was when they went back at the resort.
White Beach Puerto Galera
In the after noon on the same day, they also went out to one of the most popular tourist attraction here in Puerto Galera by far, White Beach. White Beach is located around 8 kilometers away from BADLADZ. Here they enjoyed walking on the powdered white sand, swimming in the clear blue ocean water and of course taking some selfies.
They stayed there up until the evening to catch some fire dancers performing by the beach and also to experience the night life in White Beach.
4th and 5th Day – Relax at BADLADZ Beach Resort
On their 4th and 5th day they just stay in the resort, swim in the pool, drink some beers and some had a massage. Our onsite full service spa can only handle 6 people all at once so some of them had their massage outside by the lawn at the beach front.
You can tell that they are really relaxed by the look of their faces.
Last Day – Jet Ski and Banana Boat Fun
October 8 is their last day in this beautiful paradise. To end it well they decided to get a banana boat and have some jet ski fun that the resort organized. Instead of going back to White Beach they choose to do it here at Small Tabinay Beach in front of BADLADZ Beach Resort so they can have the privacy since they have the beach for themselves.
So BADLADZ got them a banana boat and a jet ski to play with. While they were all having fun, BADLADZ prepared them a delicious buffet of food to fill their stomach when they were done playing in the water.
This was the best way to end their fun packed vacation for their group.
The TIC group is just one of the many groups that took the Puerto Galera group accommodation at BADLADZ.

Many a heated argument flourishes among viewers of my YouTube channel, on the comparison of the Philippines vs Thailand with many statements, few facts, and in my opinion it’s a bloody waste of time.
People always compare the Philippines vs Thailand. Honestly, these countries are so politically, geographically, historically, culturally and religiously different. It is somewhat akin to comparing boats and fish just because they inhabit the same ocean.
Is it because they both have a flourishing tourist trade? Although they both share political instability, face natural disasters and suffer from terrorist insurgencies they have little else in common.
Politically speaking, Thailand has a government that controls the media and suppresses reports about these problems. With a history of censorship that ranks them 130 out of 180 countries they have a long history of censorship of the press.
Terrorism is always a hot topic when it comes to conversations about travel in the Philippines but few realize that Thailand has this identical problem. You can read about terrorism in Thailand here.
Conversely, the Philippine press exposes terrorist acts in all their gory glory and in minute detail making it seem as if the country is in imminent peril of being overrun by terrorist factions. The truth is that the terrorists in Thailand have a very good foothold in the South and are constantly inching further north. It is one landmass, one language and it is easy to see it eventually creeping over the entire landmass of this beautiful country.
Terrorism, however, faces a unique problem in the Philippines with over 7000 islands and 9 major languages, the insurgents have trouble expanding from their southern bases of operation because of logistical and cultural differences beyond their traditional strongholds and this keeps it fairly well contained to the southernmost islands.
Transportation and Infrastructure
Transportation and infrastructure is where Thailand takes the Philippines hands down in comparisons. Again, being one landmass, it is easy to connect the dots to integrate and expand these systems. The Philippines conversely must create a separate infrastructure on each island. Electrical creation and distribution systems must be built and fed, transportation hubs created and serviced by a vast network of inter-island ferries then maintained. Internet and phone services must rely solely on transmission towers, no hard wires here. All this in the face of multiple typhoons, spawned a vast Pacific Ocean, which inevitably slam into the Philippines first, before trailing off to mainland Asia.
Adventure and diversity is definitely a Philippine strong point. These thousands of islands provide a myriad of possibilities for those who want to “step off the beaten path” so to speak. With only 20% of the tourist masses that visit Thailand every year, 4 million versus 20 million, the Philippines does offer experiences that you alone can enjoy without crowd or audience. See the video at the bottom of this post.
So, compare not these two beautiful Asian flowers. Embrace and rejoice in their differences. I recommend you visit both and enjoy all of the wonderful experiences both have to offer.
What an amazing country. With a rich history, abundant culture and tons of great places to party, it probably sounds like one of the best places to go in the world for a holiday. It’s one of the most popular spots on the South East Asia backpacking trail and there’s no doubt that you’ll have a great time in Thailand.
But despite how amazing Thailand can be, we think that the Philippines is better. However, since we run a few cool resorts, our opinion may be a tad biased 🙂
Let’s get into it –
3 Reasons Why Philippines is Better Than Thailand
1. Less Tourists. Thailand is a popular spot and with good reason. There are loads of great tourist activities and rich Asian culture to explore. Buddhism is the main religion and you could spend months just visiting different Buddhist temples. In fact, you can even spend a few weeks at a temple, learning to be a monk (how’s that for a retreat?). But this comes at a price. Being popular, tourists are EVERYWHERE. You’ll find it impossible to find a beach that isn’t packed with young, excited backpackers from all over the globe. In the Philippines, you’re off the backpacker trail so you won’t be surrounded by tourists in most places.
2. More Adventure. Thailand offers a number of adventurous activities. The only problem is that when everyone is doing it, it doesn’t feel that adventurous. If you’re surrounded by tourists, it’s just going to feel like you’re at home. In the Philippines, adventure is hiding around every corner. From catching public transport to navigating the rambling alleyways of the provincial towns, you’re guaranteed to satiate your thirst for adventure in the Philippines.
3. More Tropical. If you want to experience the tropical island getaway, Thailand probably isn’t the place. There’s too many other people doing the same thing for it to feel like a getaway. If you want a tropical island getaway, come to the Philippines. With 7,107 islands, you’ll find a number of great spots. In Palawan, one of the isolated island chains in the Philippines, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a hidden paradise that no one knows about.
Tropical Paradise Top 5
As always I say the Philippines is amazing and my favorite of the two. I’m not alone either.
A few years ago we ran a survey with some of our previous customers. After visiting the Philippines, we asked them where they thought the best “tropical paradise” in the world was.
As we expected, most of them said the Philippines!
To celebrate, we made a snazzy image of the results below. If you want to display it on your blog, feel free to grab the code for it here.

Come stay at BADLADZ and we’ll give you a few more reasons why it’s more fun in the Philippines. Our Mexican food will melt your taste buds and once you experience what it’s like to spend every day by the beach, sitting by a few coconut trees, you’ll never want to leave.

I’m often asked… Is it Safe to Travel the Philippines? As with anywhere you travel you will find that you need to always be aware of your surroundings, but here are some specific tips to lean on. First watch this short video I created about the safety in the Philippines and continue reading for more detailed information.
Tourism and Crime in the Philippines
Philippines is a safe country compared to other bigger countries. If you look at some statics online, you’ll see that the Philippines is #47 in total crimes per country. Check statistics here.
Tourist zones here in the Philippines are quite safe. Philippines has only 6 million tourists each year compared with the 32.5 million that go to Thailand as of 2016. This alone means criminals are less likely to be organized to operate against tourists. Fewer tourists, fewer opportunities, fewer criminals.
Philippines is also number 4 among the biggest countries that has English speaking population. So if you can speak English, you can travel the Philippines without trouble.
Every country has bad areas where you “do not go”. I challenge anybody to tell me differently. So don’t go there.
Safety in the Philippines
When you come to the Philippines there’s certain factors you have to consider. For instance Philippines is a third world country. Meaning the things you’ll be carrying with you are probably worth more than what some poeple make in six months.
So here is the first advice….
1. Don’t be Ostentatious About Your Wealth
Dress down, don’t wear jewelry, don’t walk along with your cellphone or camcorder in your hand. If you’re walking along with your cellphone in your hand, not aware of your surroundings it becomes an easy target for somebody to snatch.
Keep your head up and your hands free when your walking. Always pay attention. This is not a violent country, this is not the kind of country where people are going to confront you and violently rob you of your things.
This is a country of opportunity. If you leave your things unattended, if you’re inattentive yourself, if you’re sitting with your bag behind you on the floor, it becomes an easy target.
You want to just be aware of your surroundings and aware of where you are in the world. The Philippines is a third world country and the reason for that is that theres no a fourth world. No big problems here but please be aware.
Travel the Philippines to Mindanao
I mentioned about the “do not go” zones. Well this is the do not go zone in the Philippines, Mindanao. The president just recently in May 2017 placed Mindanao under martial law due to deadly clashes in Marawi City involving the Maute group who is believed to be trying to establish a caliphate for ISIS.
Mindanao is the terrorist haven that everybody has heard about. Located in the farthest southern reaches of the Philippines and most parts of it are actually safer than Miami, Florida or London, England.
The reason for the inordinate amount of attention paid to the few crimes that actually happened there is that evil monkey Abu Sayyaf. The Muslims that operate under this umbrella of so-called terrorism are just thugs, thieves, kidnappers and robbers. It has nothing to do with religion.
Their only claim to fame is to claim this questionable allegiance. Anyway, if you’re concerned, just don’t go there. With over 7,000 other islands to visit there is no shortage of places to have fun.
Is the Philippines Safe for Solo Travelers?
The Philippines is an incredibly safe destination for solo female travelers and male travelers alike. While there are a lot of “crimes of opportunity” here, confrontational or violent crime is very uncommon. You are probably far more likely to be a victim of a violent crime in your home town than you are anywhere in the Philippines.
While safety precautions are necessary just like in any new location, people in the Philippines are extremely hospitable.
We had a guest that made a blog about how safe the Philippines for solo travelers. Her name is Anna Wickham, she did live and travel the Philippines alone for three months and she have found it to be a wonderful and safe experience that every traveler should try no matter what gender. You can read some of her blog about traveling the Philippines here.
Aside from the crimes that you may encounter here in the Philippines, the other thing you should be aware of is the weather.
Typhoons in the Philippines
Not too long ago a super typhoon went through the Philippines , and it was devastation. I get phone calls and e-mails all the time whenever something like this happens, people asking “oh is it safe?, am I going to be able to fly in? since they’ve been watching the news”.
Well you have to understand the Philippines is a big place. More likely the typhoon will go through the center of the Philippines going from the east to the west of the country and with anything along that path you’re going to have trouble, places like Samar, Leyte, Palawan, Iloilo and all of them will be hit.
Here in Puerto Galera where our BADLADZ is located we are at the top of the island of Mindoro and we are far north from the areas where the typhoon normally hits, though it does occasionally happen. The Philippines government developed a plan for any kind of disaster that may occur in the Philippines, they call it National Disaster response plan.
So don’t be afraid of what it says on the news, the Philippines is fully operational 24/7. As always, make sure to take the proper precautions anywhere you go. The Philippines is a perfectly safe destination.
Stay With BADLADZ
Come and travel the Philippines, stay with us at any BADLADZ property and have a memorable vacation. It is safe, the staff are kind and hospitable, it is affordable, and there are tons of things to do in Puerto Galera.

Are you looking for some Manila Airport travel tips?
When you come to the Philippines (and you should!), more then likely you’ll be arriving by plane. That is, unless you pull off a stunt as a stowaway aboard a ship, but hey, that’s pretty unlikely.
Get a plane – they’re more comfortable than the cargo hold of a boat.
Here are some Manila Airport Travel Tips to help you get started on the right foot.
Arriving at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL)
When arriving here, chances are that you’ll arrive at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL). Especially if you’re coming straight down to Puerto Galera. In the video below, you’ll see a few shots of the different terminals at Manila Airport.

Kayaking is the best way to see the coastline. In a kayak you can paddle close to shore and inspect rocks, cliffs, and rivers that are not accessible by boat. Plus anyone can do it, all you have to do is put on your life vest, grab your kayak and paddle out if the water is calm enough. Here in Puerto Galera the water is calm most of the time throughout the year.
Recently I went out for adventure as I go kayaking into the unknown. [Read more…]
A famous dive site in Puerto Galera is the Verde Island Passage. You can see Verde Island from our BADLADZ Beach Resort. It rises out of the water, appearing as an ancient volcano. While it’s a beautiful geographical landmark above the surface, the real treasure lies under the water.
Verde Island, and the surrounding waters are known as the “center of marine biodiversity in the world”. Yes, you read that correctly. In other words, there are more species of fish and coral per square meter in this location, than anywhere else in the world, including the Caribbean and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
All this fantastic ocean life filters out to the waters around Puerto Galera. With over 40 dive sites that will delight even the most avid divers, Puerto Galera is a scuba diving paradise.
